Intento Glossaries

Intento Glossaries allow you to customize machine translation with your terminology (i.e., product names, non-translatable terms, etc.). The terminology can be applied to machine translation from both providers that natively support terminology and providers that do not have this feature yet.

Intento Glossaries work in a provider-agnostic fashion. Read more about supported MT providers.

To start working with Glossaries:

  1. Create a new glossary and choose a type:

Improve Language — It is a unidirectional type of glossary, which means that each source term that is added requires a translation variant.
Protect Language — Such glossaries consist of terms that don't require translation. So when this type is selected it is dedicated to protecting the terms from translation.

  2. Select case sensitivity type. Please refer to the articles below to check the possible options:

  3. Set the label if needed. You can create any label that will help you navigate through the glossaries you created to apply them to translations effectively.
  4. Click on "Create Glossary"

How to add terms

When your glossary is ready, you can add the terms manually or upload a .csv file of a certain structure:

apple

사과

robot

로봇

goose

거위

yellow submarine

노란 잠수함

Please note, that no headers can be added to the .csv file. In case you are creating a non-translatable glossary, you can upload a file consisting of 1 column only. In order to modify and manage your terms, kindly refer to the following article: Creating and Managing Terms in Glossaries
