How to install and configure Intento plugin for Crowdin

Crowdin is a cloud-based solution that streamlines localization management for your team.

Intento plugin for Crowdin and Crowdin Enterprise allows you to use Machine Translation provided by more than 40 stock engines, customize your own models, and fine-tune the output. 

Installation

To install the Intento plugin for Crowdin:

1. Make sure that you are logged in as Owner in Crowdin / Owner or Admin in Crowdin Enterprise.

2. Obtain your API key from Intento Console.

3. Visit the Machine Translation page in Crowdin and find the Intento plugin

To find the Intento plugin in Crowdin:

1. Go to Crowdin.com → Machine Translation → Add MT Engine → Search for Intento → click Install

To find the Intento plugin in Crowdin Enterprise: Navigate to the left-hand menu and click Marketplace → Search for Intento → click Install

Once the installation is completed, you can configure the plugin by going to:

1. Resources → Machine Translation → Custom MT Translator (scroll down) → Select Intento in the Custom MT Engine Application list.

2. Go to Resources → Extensions → Intento, and configure the plugin.

Configuration for Crowdin Enterprise

In case you are using Crowdin Enterprise, click on Intento the icon — in the left panel — once the plugin is installed:

Insert your API key obtained from Intento Console and specify the routing strategy from the list, or simply leave the "routing" field empty to apply the default routing strategy.

If you see the message "An API key and routing updated successfully", you are good to go.

Intento as a Machine Translation Engine

To configure Intento as a Machine Translation engine in Crowdin.com, open the Resources panel and select Intento from the list in the Machine Translation tab.

If you are using Crowdin Enterprise, please click Add MT engine in the Machine Translation tab:

Choose Custom integration and Intento from the dropdown list, and click Create:
